Bradford Local Plan Consultation

The City of Bradford has now commenced the next stage of a review of the Local Plan This was out for public consultation from 12th May 2016 to 19th July 2016 but this has now closed and all of the submissions will be collated by the Council. It has major implications for Ben Rhydding and Ilkley if the sites included in this consultation are adopted for development (as well as for the rest of the District). Thanks to everyone who commented as appropriate. You can still view all the maps showing the sites by following this link SITE CONSULTATION

Essentially the plan envisages 1,000 new homes in Ben Rhydding and Ilkley. The current draft envisages "a significant contribution from greenbelt changes in sustainable locations".

There are also 700 new homes proposed in Burley, 600 in Menston and 200 in Addingham.

The next step after the Council has collated all the submissions will be for them to carry out a detailed site appraisal, infrastructure review, green belt review and sustainability appraisal before a preliminary draft plan is submitted for further consultation in due course.
