North Aisle Roof - Fundraising

A few years ago, St Johns Church had to have some work done on our roof to ensure that it continued to be weatherproof.  At the time, a decision was made to leave the North Aisle roof for the time being due to funding issues and it not being as urgent as the main roof.

The time has however come that the work on the North Aisle roof needs to be done to replace the wooden pegs and re-lay the slates.  The estimated cost of this work is £50,000.

We are delighted to announce that we have reached our target, through fundraising events, generous donations and generous grants. So plans are now being developed to start the works and fix the roof.

The work is due to commence mid-March and take about 5 weeks. Please note the church drive won’t be accessible during this time as it will be blocked off by scaffolding.
