People’s Emergency Briefing, St. John’s, Ben Rhydding, Sunday, 26th July, 6.30pm
A free community film screening about the threats posed by the climate and nature crisis, followed by a discussion to explore how we can respond to the risks.
The film, hosted by presenter and environment campaigner Chris Packham, is based on the National Emergency Briefing that was delivered by leading UK experts to more than 1,200 MPs, peers and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media in Westminster Central Hall last November. The experts addressed the implications of climate and nature breakdown on food security, health, national security, infrastructure and the economy.
Chris Packham has said: “I’d encourage people everywhere to attend a screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing. It creates exactly the kind of honest local conversation we now urgently need, both about what these changes mean where we live, and about what we can do together to address them.”
