At St John’s we seek to teach, baptize, and nurture new believers and support everyone with their spiritual growth and development. We have several small groups within the church, which provide a place where people can explore their relationship with Jesus and get to know each other better in a setting less formal than the Sunday Service.
Each of the groups provides its own unique experience. New members are always welcome to join one of our Groups. As they meet at various times of the day there should be a group that meets at a time to suit you. The groups are for everyone at whatever stage of your Christian journey, they are an effective way of getting to know others, learn together, and support one another. Please speak to one of the Leadership Team if you would like to join a group.
We also run Nurture courses during the year.
Next Course: Searching for Home: Advent reflections on the God who welcomes everyone.
Incarnation is a major theme of this exhilarating course. Mary and Joseph's search for a place to give birth to the son of God, and their terrifying flight to Egypt to escape the murderous intentions of King Herod, have clear echoes in the accounts of contemporary journeys. Through the exploration of Leaving Home, Fleeing Home, Carrying Home, and Finding Home, we are enabled to reflect on our own need for guidance, sanctuary, and comfort in the love of God, whoever walks beside us.
This four-week course starts on Tuesday 28 November 19:30 – 21:00 on Zoom. To find out more and book your place please email firstname.lastname@example.org
